Healthy stuff

Whilst in care, we hope that you will be able to stay with your own family doctor. If this isn’t possible you may move to your foster carers' doctor. When you turn 16, your carer may not need to go with you to the doctors.

It is important that you keep yourself healthy and try to look after yourself.  This will mean eating good foods such as fruit and veg, doing lots of exercise and getting enough sleep.

You will have a health check with the doctor every year. Don’t worry, this is only a paper check, you won’t be asked to take off your clothes or anything, unless you have a specific problem that the doctor wants to look at.

If you are ever feeling low, stressed or poorly, always speak to your foster carer.
